These raised structures are all along the trail, they are used for storing grain. This morning we are on a casual stroll, starting with the farmers market (mostly clothes and shoes), then on to the next town, Corcubion, where we are having a cup of cafe leche. They make the best coffee here, and everywhere they serve snacks of some kind with your beverage. There is a medieval festival here today that may get interesting. Later tonight we will find out what Pepe the hotelier/chef has in the larder for our cena (supper). Last night he took us into his kitchen to get our approval on the hearty chicken & veg soup he was cooking, and to show us our options for the entree - fish or steak. The food has been really good all along, except maybe those sardines yesterday. Pepe seemed quite hurt when we didn't sample them but forgave us. When we came back from exploring Cee last night, he was waiting for us with a box of bandaids. Methinks he understands more English than he lets on, either that our gait gave us away. We also ran into the first english speaking hikers last night. We peppered them with questions; since we arrived in Madrid we have been doing a lot of pantomimes to communicate.
